About

This store is provided by the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  It was created to improve access to hard-to-find native plants, to aid in restoration, and increase the biodiversity of our local plant communities.

In “Nature’s Best Hope”, Doug Tallamy writes:

“Restoring viable habitat within the human-dominated landscapes that separate habitat fragments - with as much of this land as possible - is the single most effective thing we can do to stop the steady drain of species from our local ecosystems.”

Everyone can help to restore our native ecosystems, and we encourage you to bring nature home by planting native plants where you live and work.

This pop-up store is an experiment.  If we see good demand we will keep it going, so we would love your feedback on how we can make it better. If we are successful we hope to prove to commercial growers that there is high demand for hard-to-find native plants and encourage them to increase the supply.

The plants are being grown by Raul Moas, the online storefront is maintained by Charlie Reverte, and deliveries are being fulfilled by Joey Basna. All store proceeds go to supporting the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, the operation of this store, and our conservation and restoration efforts.
