Description: A perennial aster, to 3-4 ft when in bloom, with 1/2" abundant white/light-blue flowers on branching stems. Typically blooms in autumn.
Natural Habitat: Usually a wetland plant found throughout Peninsular Florida.
Planting and Care: Water daily for 2-3 weeks after which it is tolerant of average moisture and does not require "wet" soil, although it does well in boggy conditions. Flowers best with abundant sun. Can trim back to ground level yearly.
Pros: Multiple autumn flowers. Supports butterflies and other pollinators. Does well in a garden with normal moisture or in a wetland situation.
Cons: Not tolerant of prolonged drought. Keep soil reasonably moist.
