Description: Long-lived goldenrod with small shiny leaves on 3+ ft long woody stems, and terminal branches with clusters of yellow flowers.
Natural Habitat: Pine rocklands and sandy pinelands in Florida.
Planting and Care: Water daily for 2 weeks after planting. Flowers and grows best in full sunlight. Requires little care after establishment. Tolerant of drought, self-seeds if ground is clear. Can cut back after flowering or seed set (the dry stems may provide habitat for insects and other wildlife).
Pros: Flowers attract and support a host of insects. Requires no care after it's established. Will self-seed if ground is kept clear.
Cons: The long branches often lean over and curve upright.
