Cypress Witchgrass (Dichanthelium dichotomum)

Description: a rapidly growing, medium-sized grass, in moist soil able to spread by runners from a central clump, to 1 ft with taller flower spikes and round seeds typical of the witchgrasses. 

Natural Habitat:  Pinelands, open areas, prefers mosit soil but tolerates drier conditions.

Planting and Care:  Easy to establish, does best in sunny areas. Flower spikes and seeds are attractive. Best in a mixed garden.

Pros:   Easy to establish and resilient, overall moderately attractive.  Tolerates radical trimming/weedeating.

Cons:  Can be aggressive, and may sprawl if given abundant space to itself. Best to plant it amongst taller flowers.
