Description:  A short long-lived perennial with 1" wide yellow flowers on short stalks, and broad leaves emanating from a thick root.  Moderately attractive.

Natural Habitat:  Pinelands, seasonally wet open woods and meadows. Endemic to Florida.

Planting and Care:  Nothing special, grows and flowers best in full sunlight. Because of its habit, it can be suppressed by many taller plants, so give it space, and put it "up front" for best visibility.. Drought tolerant after establishment.

Pros:  A handsome addition to a native flower garden.

Cons:  Needs to have some clear space around it to avoid shading from taller plants.

Note on Size: These plants are young and still small, they come in pint-size containers. Please see the container photo to get a sense of their size as of February 2024.
