Description: An attractive perennial spreading herb, usually much broader than tall, with trifoliate leaves and small yellow pea-like flowers.
Natural Habitat: Pinelands and marl prairies.
Planting and Care: Nothing special, does best in sunlight. Drought-tolerant once established.
Pros: Attractive, can serve as ground cover and wildflower. Host plant for the Barred Yellow butterfly, Eurema daira. Reseeds easily.
Cons: Not much; can reproduce abundantly.
