Description: A small to medium shrub with attractive yellow senna-like flowers.
Natural Habitat: A plant of disturbed and moist areas, apparently native to southern and central US, central and northern South America.
Planting and Care: Average moisture, tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Can be trimmed back.
Pros: Abundant typical yellow senna flowers. Leaf-cutter bees use the leaves; While not the prettiest senna, seems to attract butterflies and other pollinators. Said to be host plant for Sleepy Orange, Cloudless Sulphur and Orange-barred Sulphur. Grows well with little care, best in partial or full sun.
Cons: Can spread easily from numerous seeds (seedlings are easily uprooted).
