Description: Long-lived perennial goldenrod with basal leaves, and 2-3' tall upright spikes of yellow flowers.
Natural Habitat: Pinelands, moist prairies.
Planting and Care: Water abundantly for 2 weeks after planting to assure establishment. Flowers and grows best in full sunlight. Requires little care after establishment. While tolerant of moderate drought, it much prefers moist soil and will wilt if exposed to prolonged drying.
Pros: Handsome upright yellow flower spikes that attract all sorts of insects (and their predators). Will self-seed if ground is kept clear, but doesn't smother nearby plants.
Cons: Not as drought hardy as most pine rockland plants.
